K9 Advantage specializes in Drop-In Classes:

Obedience classes provide an excellent opportunity to socialize your dog and learn from other students. Watching others train their dogs can be a valuable learning experience. Classes also offer distractions and challenges you and your dog can benefit from.

Drop-In Classes are a convenient option for dog owners who want to train their dogs on their own terms. Unlike traditional classes that require a fixed commitment of several weeks, Drop-In Classes allow you to attend whenever it suits your schedule. This flexibility means that you can fit training sessions into your busy life without feeling overwhelmed. Plus, you have the freedom to attend as many classes as you like, giving you ample opportunities to reinforce your dog's training. With Drop-In Classes, you can train your dog effectively while staying within your budget and enjoying the process.

Our classes are priced at an affordable $10.00 each, ensuring accessibility for all. We prioritize customer satisfaction, offering a guarantee that if you are not completely satisfied, you pay nothing at all. We believe in providing a valuable and enjoyable experience for our students, and we are committed to ensuring that you feel supported and satisfied throughout your journey with us.

In class, you will acquire the necessary skills to train your dog effectively. We will cover a range of commands, including Sit, Down, Heel, Recall, and Release, both on and off leash. Additionally, we will address common behavioral issues such as barking, destructive chewing, house training, and jumping. Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge and techniques to resolve any problems you may be experiencing with your dog. Classes are on the 1st, 3rd & 4th Saturday of the month 9am to 10am.

The Beginning of Drop-In Classes

In 1987, I sought new ways to boost business for K9 Advantage, my dog training venture. Departing from the norm of lengthy 8-week classes, I introduced Drop-in classes at an affordable $5 fee. This innovative approach addressed common barriers like cost and time commitment, resonating well with dog owners.

Initially met with modest attendance, the Drop-in classes gradually gained popularity, eventually expanding to 11 locations with multiple weekly sessions. With classes accommodating 10 to 20 dogs, drawing from my experience handling large groups, I ensured smooth operations and practical training for over 37 years without encountering major issues.

By offering accessible and beneficial training experiences, I successfully eliminated common obstacles that deter dog owners from enrolling in traditional classes. The evolution of K9 Advantage's approach exemplifies the impact of adapting to meet customer needs and fostering a thriving community of well-trained dogs and their owners.

RULES FOR CLASS

- Bring proof of vaccinations to the first class.
- Classes start promptly, so be on time.
- Comfortable clothing and rubber soled shoes are recommended.
- Only a buckle style or chain collar and a 6-foot nylon or leather leash will be used in class.
- Dogs will always be kept on leash unless otherwise directed by your instructor.
- Don't allow dogs to meet in class until the instructor gives permission.
- Each handler is responsible for his dog’s conduct in the training area. Do not let your dog sniff other dogs. Growling and snapping will not be tolerated.
- The instructor reserves the right to expel dogs who show aggression towards people or other dogs.
- If your dog is sick, do not bring them to class. Contact the instructor for any questions about what is allowed in class.
- Clean up after your dog.
- Do not feed your dog just before class. It is best to feed him after class.
- Young children must be supervised by an additional adult.
- Call your instructor if questions arise during the week.

Well organized and fun

I especially like the group training sessions In Kingman because, they are not only well organized, they are fun! I have attend two trainings and each time I can see, not only my dog learning, but I'm also learning to be a good dog parent as well. The group environment is so great for dogs to learn, not only individual training, but socializing skills as well. After one hour (Saturday drop in class) we had a new dog! Before I was unable to enjoy taking my 80lb puppy on a walk because he would pull so hard. After a one hour class, I was able to walk him with ease and enjoyed it! We learned so much in just one hour. Roy taught us how and what our dogs were communicating to us and how to correct bad behaviors through obedience training. Today was my first time at the drop in class with my 1 year old Niko that I adopted 6 months ago. I am in amazement at the change in behavior after just 1 hour.
